The 2nd New Hampshire Regiment was raised in 1775 and initially served during the Siege of Boston, one of the opening campaigns of the American Revolutionary War. When George Washington assumed command of the newly formed Continental forces, the regiment became part of the Continental Army.

The 2nd New Hampshire went on to serve throughout the war, earning a reputation for reliability and endurance. Its service included major engagements at Bunker Hill, Trenton, Princeton, Hubbardton, Saratoga, Monmouth, and Yorktown, participating in the struggle from the war’s opening months through final victory.

The regiment stands as one of the longest-serving Continental units, representing the sustained commitment and sacrifice of New England soldiers in securing American independence.
