The Cowpens Flag is associated with the Battle of Cowpens, fought on January 17, 1781, in South Carolina—one of the most decisive American victories of the Revolutionary War. The battle was commanded by Daniel Morgan, whose brilliant double-envelopment tactics shattered the British force under Banastre Tarleton.

The flag features a blue canton with thirteen white stars arranged in a circle, symbolizing the unity and equality of the thirteen colonies, set against thirteen red and white stripes.
